The loveable joker

Ron and I had known each other for over 25 years, he was without doubt one of my closest friends. He was a giant within the I.T. INDUSTRY known throughout the world for being a Master of the I.T. I.L. methodology.

I remember checking into a hotel in hertfordshire and hearing his voice...."hi mate", although we lived 3 miles from each other but coincidentally met that day 90 miles away in a hotel. He insisted that I joined his group to have drinks so i wasnt lonely. That night we had such great fun relating our tales to the group. Unfortunately we both had quite a bit to drink. The next morning Ron was found in his car by his delegates....ha ha ha. They thought it was fantastic!!!!. He wore sunglasses all day!!!!. He cared so much for other people, finishing the course with superb marks from the students.

My heart goes out to Rosemary, Guy, Anne and grand children who were so loved as he so often told me. We shared many family stories, which was heartwarming.

Of course after retiring he never forgot his ex colleagues telling me his adventures, including UK and international colleagues. Of particular note was his award for good service recognised by his international colleagues and presented to him in the usa from David Ratcliffe sending him and rosemary to the far east for a good luxurious knees up.

Simply he was so hardworking, a pleasure to know and socialise with, so sympathetic to any of his friends. A true gent with the charm of your favourite puppy.

We will remember his cheeky adorable smile, and often have a beer for him. REST IN PEACE MY FRIEND.
